Wyoming For Sale By Owner. 1400 acres total property, comprised of 1040(+/-) deeded
acres and the remainder in BLM and State leases. The property has
heavily wooded ponderosa pine and rocky mountain juniper stands as well
as upland pasture, canyons and draws, and rock outcroppings.
There is
about a 500 feet elevation difference from the highway to the top of
mountain which is at 5200 feet above sea level. It is one mile north of
Hartville, WY on State highway 270. It is 3 1/2 hours from Denver Intl.
Airport. Located within a couple of miles of the north entrance to
spectacular Guernsey State Park it is in the "Black Hills" of the
Hartville uplift. Indians
called these hills the "black hills", as they did many others, to
specify a type of terrain (tree covered), not a specific location. In
addition to access on highway 270, there is power, two developed wells,
several undeveloped wells, incredible mountaintop views of the Laramie
range, abundant deer,& turkey. Elk and antelope also frequent the
property. ! The property and surrounding area is rich with Indian artifacts and
other history. We have gathered spear tips, scrappers, flint arrowheads
on this property. There are two communities of tepee rings on the BLM
lease that goes with the property. There is a historic cabin in need of
repair which (we are told) was the homestead of the inventor of the
chain saw.
